Fair price for a pair of Hartsfields?

Well, congratulations!!! I use to say to myself that the best scores are gone but you're the living proof that I am wrong!

Thanks everyone for your encouragement and enthusiasm. First song out of the Hartsfield was Suzie Q.[/QUOTE]

Welcome to AK!
It's okay to post a dancing banana or two...

after all you might have just entered the AK Hall of Fame on your first post :banana:

Local junk/antique store. The guy buys housefuls of stuff. Everything that's left when the relatives are done with the estate.

The relatives and the "antique" store owner sure missed the boat in this case.

What a find! Congratulations!

Congrats on getting them!
To continue this saga; What are your plans with them rhaacke?

Ps there aren't enough dancing banana's in this thread yet;

Wow, just wow!! Wow!! That might be the best find I have ever seen on here. Definitely as good or better than the AK'er who rescued a Marantz 7c and 2 Models 9s from a house before it was demolished- for free!

There was a pair of Cerwin Vegas at the house also. Wouldn't say what model just that he was keeping those for himself. Q.

Don't you just love it, the cerwin Vega's run interferance.
And wouldn't volenteer any info, like it was a secret treasure.

Is it tempting to go back & disclose your treasure?
Just wondering.

That's incredible! You must have done some incredibly good deed to deserve such good fortune! Do you have any special plans for when you are ready to run them in stereo?

Believe it or not... somebody topped this one. Here.

His Hartsfields were free. Now of course, this is assuming the price of the house wasn't adjusted for them. :) According to the OP, the stuff was just "left behind" in his newly purchased house, so it does indeed sound like a freebie. On top of this, he got a stack of rare vintage McIntosh gear and a wonderful Thorens TT all left behind as well. I guess that one wins out... But #2 is nothing to sneeze at. ;)

Hartsfield mono rig. But yes, even only one and all the other gear (MC60, TD124) left behind was a major score.

Heh, don't know how I missed that. I didn't realize there was only one. Well... in that case, I stand corrected! :)

Dang it... WOW nice super score of the century.

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana: Yeah U right!

Ok now the real work, what are you going to power them with. Hopefully not that Sherwood? Tube .. solid state... ??

Man that sure is some haul.

How is the SO handling those - do we need to show her how to add a few chachka on top?

I always say "I'd rather be lucky than good", well you sir are one lucky bastid. Did I mention I already hate you?

First post ... and these?

Cheers on ya,

Bob

You've made one hell of an intro, rhaacke! Welcome to AK!

I hope you realize you've lived the dreams of many on this forum in your first few months of membership. ;)

When I first saw this thread I thought your tone was waaay to casual. Coming from a brand new member I figured the next posts were going to be trolling or spam. I'm delighted to say, instead, welcome to the club!
