Would have to say "AJA" is my favorite SD album. They all are good albums!

Countdown to Ecstacy because it still has the energy and organic sound of their early work and was the beginning of their more polished sound. Their last two albums are way past expiration but I still listen to all their others.

Have to stand up for studio musicians ... The fact that Becker and Fagen chose to use them isn't a draw back at all. Steely Dan wouldn't be Steely Dan without Naked Lunch and Michael Becker. On many a day, I will call Steely Dan my favorite band, for their consistency as well as the huge number of tunes I can't imagine living without. Those tunes would not have been possible without the studio musicians that played on them. God bless each and everyone.
By the way, The Royal Scam wins hands down, just because of the song, The Royal Scam.

Treasure my Kendun first pressing. This album rocks.

The last couple pages before the pictures section in Reelin' in the Years by Brian Sweet detail that Becker, Fagan, and Katz all hated the final mix because the DBX sound reduction completely ruined it.

I already voted for Aja. Even though I don’t own it yet. I want it on vinyl and Gaucho on SACD.
Decade of Dan is one my system demo disks.
Is this book worthwhile ? I know there are a couple updated editions. One has the Aja cover artwork.
