I could bring a turntable and phono stage and/or preamp...
If any one would like to hear them, I can bring my DQ-28s down for a listen.
Danimal, if you are willing to bring them, I'm willing to hear them. :thmbsp:
FWIW, I have a lot of bookshelf speakers here already (AR4x, A25, ADS 710, Genesis Model 10, Epicure Model 4, Insignias and Indignias) and a couple of floorstanders (Rega ELA and B&W DM3000) should anyone want to hear any of them.
I may or may not bring the VPI Classic, I'm undecided, as it's very heavy, awkward and there's a flight of stairs involved at my place. You'd be surprised how heavy it is for how conventional it looks. If I don't, Keith..you're welcome to come by and hear it at my place.
Brian,
They all sounds great, but bring whatever you want. I think we can probably use them all.
for those of you who offered to bring a VPI, I would really like that. I have never used one before, and I would like to see how it performs on some LP's that I just cant get up to par.
This may be a bit over zealous, but if I brought my turntable, would anyone be willing to walk me through setting up the cart properly? I have worked pretty hard at it, but I really have no point of reference. I've had it for a while, and just keep going back to tweaking all the time. always unsure. I'm sure some of you could listen to it for 5 seconds and tell me that my azimuth was off, or I was horribly mistracking.. Its a pioneer pl-50, running a denon 110 cart. I would bring some headphones if necessary so as not to annoy anyone. but I think it could also be really helpful if there are any other people unsure of what a properly set up table sounds like. if its too much to ask, no problem, but I figured this was the group to go to.

I must apologize for my own confusion. when I mentioned bringing the VPI, I was originally referring to the Record Cleaning Machine referenced by 240sx4u. I see now that he asked for PM's regarding the machine. my bad.![]()
So far, we're up to 32 attendees who have expressed interest. Spouses and others are still welcome but please let me know so we can provide accordingly.
Directions/Instructions will be sent more than a week in advance.
Still looking forward to it but the prep work at my end starts soon (cleaning, cleaning, cleaning).
Anyone interested in attending who needs to know what to expect can search this Events and Happenings thread for pics from previous years (2007, 2008 and 2009).

I have a friend who's an audio enthusiast that would like to come if it's ok with you.
I can bring the Feickert alignment protractor and dial in the overhang and offset angle if you'd like. I optimize azimuth using the Feickert software and its special test record, but it's time consuming so I have to charge real money for doing it (done outside of this get together which is a friendly social gathering).
