Still with the owner in Nebraska. Was not my place to intervene, since he bought it two generations away from the theft sale.

That's very kind and decent of you, Echo. I'm guessing he probably felt terrible about it too when he learned the truth.

A gentlman in Omaha bought it from someone in the Pac Northwest a couple of months ago, and it apparently has some relay problems. He found AK, and contacted me for repairs. I've had it here (in a box) for about 10 days. I finally opened it up, and popped the cover off. I immediately saw that it was MY work, and that this IS the 'lost' unit.

The Omaha owner is digging up his contact info from the buyer. The major problem is that I never wrote down the serial number of the unit when in was here last August, but I recognize my work like a mother knows her kids. No one else would do the exact same things to the amp that I did, using the same parts as I would. It's just impossible.

WTF now? :confused:

I'm still concerned about Fed-Ex. I've heard that this policy of theirs still exists, and if they're letting people take out insurance claims they have no intention of ever paying... that sounds like grounds for some kind of lawsuit.

This thread was an interesting read none the less. A shame that there wasn't really a happy ending to the whole situation.
