I don't think anyone makes that part anymore. It's part of the volume pot. To conserve the switch most people use a power strip to turn the receiver on and off. Your best bet is to find a parts unit on that auction site.

Most likely you won't get a response because he seems to have fallen off the world.

Good luck with the restoration.

Hello Idatlof..Thanks for the response..The restoration is finished and the 400 sounds great. I think I'll put it in it's cabinet and do the power strip thing until I find a replacement.

You may be able to swap one from another pot of the same make. There should be an EIA code (six digit) or a name. Some of these switches are 2-pole, separate switch for the switched outlet. That second switch might still be good.

There ARE new switches to be had for $15 or so... Mark Oppat probably has them (oldradioparts.net) - again, you'll need to know the maker to match it up. He MIGHT be able to duplicate the control for $50 or so... but there were only so many of the exact shafts made...

Finally, if you have ANY Fisher receiver, an inrush limiter (Keystone CL-70 or -170 if my memory serves...) in series with the AC will extend the life of the few surviving power switches.

Thanks Tom..I'll contact old radio parts and see if he has one. I'll also install an inrush limiter as its going to be well used.

My switch died too :tears: on my console preamp. I wired it so I use the auto off instead. Wish I could find one. Good tip about the limiter :thmbsp:
