Fisher custom futura?

That didn't take long.....:smoke:

I would imagine that the restoration and collecting of old consoles is an acquired taste. I truly believe that sobr1 wants to sample the flavor of tubes at some point in time, but this Fisher may not be the best avenue towards that goal for him. I merely responded to a CL ad and it turned out to be him.

Bet you made him an offer he couldn't refuse....:deal:
He needs some serious (100+watts/chan) watts to drive some big-a$$ speakers that he acquired from me. I happen to have a receiver with pre in/out jumpers that exceeds that criteria that I'm not using, and it allows him to use his existing preamp. The Fisher will get plenty of love here and find a permanent home alongside several others.

Dave,

I just wanna know if you remembered to wipe the drool off yer chin before you made him the offer......:D.....:thmbsp:

Okay, I will admit that I am totally enamored with this prospect. It certainly represents the opportunity to restore something that can stand proudly alongside my '63 Custom Electra, (2) '61 Motorola's, '58 Motorola, '61 Grundig, '63 Packard Bell, etc. My youngest (15) son will help with the restoration as he seems to be the one (of my 2 sons) who will carry them forward to the next generations.

drool, maybe, but it's not leaving town and a true console lover is getting her.I am sure she will be loved.Plus well taken care of.

Thanks Dave, you are quite correct on all counts! She will live a long and fulfilling life here with plenty of good company.

I picked up a can of Howard Restore-A-Finish in mahogany and another pack of #0000 steel wool. I figure that once I get the amp and tuner chassis out, I'll work on the cab while waiting for replacement caps and resistors.

Regards,
Dave
