Fisher ID

Ok, got my exercise for the day. From the basement Fisherdude collection:

TA-600 on the top, TA-800 on the bottom. In the correct steel cabinets.

Interesting - the 600 has the older flat stamped faceplate like the FM-50. The 800's faceplate is much more like the later extruded panels.

I actually have another 800 with a slightly different faceplate. It's very similar to the extruded one, but it has end pieces attached, which give it a "framed in" look.

There are two versions of the 800- one has a piece of metal trim going around the entire face panel- almost like a picture frame.

The other version is the one pictured that is in Fisherdude's collection.

Follow-up question...I haven't tried mine to see if it fits yet, but does the one with the trim pieces around the panel still fit in the standard steel cabinet?

Operator's Manual and Schematic/Parts list for the 600 have been scanned and emailed to AK. These should be added to the Digital Docs database soon.

I noticed the Operator's Manual always referred to the unit as The 600 except in a warning about turning it on without a speaker load, where it was called a TA-600.

You folks are right, says The 600 on the face and TA-600 on the output transformer.

This things going to need some work - the tone has booming bass, like one of those pimp rides. We'll work on that after the recap.

Tubes are Fisher-branded and all innerds look original except for 6 OD caps, including the output couplers.

Brass face plate is like new.
