Film caps may not age as fast as electrolytics but they definitely do age or degrade over time or from abuse. I have replaced many stock film caps in klipsch & other speakers that tested high or out of spec for capacitance, usually smaller values are effected more than large values, but Ive also had film caps test different or higher ESR than each other... because they are aged & out of spec. If film caps didnt age, crossover builders/techs would be out of business & the majority of people that refresh their 30+ year old caps, even with the same type, say they notice an improvement in sound.
Forte2 & other models from this era are going on 35 years old now, thats getting pretty old for original caps.
