I used the high pass from this schematic for the 2452H-SL. It's from the "flex your mettle thread". As you know, Zilch was sort of co-developing this crossover for the 2452 and 2432 drivers. I believe my tests confirm that his final result worked well for both drivers.

What are you running the woofers up to?

I'll run the woofers (LE14H-1) up to 1200 Hz, probably second order. JBL ran them up to 900 Hz on the 240 Ti with a second order filter. I'll start by scaling that filter up a bit to achieve 1200 Hz and see how it works out.

Steve - the guy too cheap to hire anyone for anything besides a plugged up toilet on a holiday. :nono: I did however puke up the money to these amazing drivers. I left Zilchlabs with a NEED to have them after hearing Duffs.

Trying to keep up with the Jones' here. I now have a pair of the 2452H-SL drivers and waveguides. Just placed an order at PE for the crossover bits to build the high pass filter Zilch derived on the PCD Flex Your Meddle thread. I'll build one up and see if I can remember how to measure it and report back. I'll be mating them to a pair of LE14H-1's. Stay tuned.

I completed these a few weeks ago after a bit of fussing over the woofer crossover. I settled on a second order low pass with 1.95 mH and 15 uF. Also used a 40 ohm resistor in parallel with the capacitor. The high pass is posted above. I made measurements but can't seem to find the files at the moment. This is the 2452H-SL drivers with LE14H-1 woofers in the small 3.7 cubic feet Barzilay cabinets. They have a very impressive sound with great high frequency clarity and smoothness and gobs of bass. I think I may tilt them back a bit to get the sound up to ear level better. My lowish powered SET tube amps don't do them justice. I switched to push pull EL84 for much better bottom end.

I owe a lot to Zilch for these.

N3134 Parts List?

Reviving this thread to see if any of you have a parts list for Zilch's 4430 crossover.

I've seen the drawing but haven't been able to track down the complete parts list. I've been playing/test cabinets for a project that uses 2235's and a variety of horns and drivers from the parts shelf. Thus far it's been active - even tried an econo-wave. So far all sound really good, so ready to move forward with a permanent solution.

AWESOME! - That completes the picture. Thanks to Steve for chasing that down and to Duff for finding. I will treat this part of Zilch's legacy with respect and make some great speakers with these crossovers.

Looks like 2235 and BMS4555 for me and I think a PTF95HF - the square one. Those 2452SL's are just too far out of reach.

Which waveguide did you end up with?

Waveguide

I used the PT-F95HF (JBL P/N 338650-001 you will need this number to order) so did Duff. It's not the square one it's a rectangle. I remember Zilch saying that this crossover was designed for this waveguide with a 15" woofer. I think the square one would make the C-C distance to large.

Just to be complete. When I ordered the parts when possible I upgraded to closer tolerance parts only costs a few bucks total. Any questions regarding building post here or PM me. I have a paper copy from Zilch with all the details on it. And PM's from Zilch regarding my dumb questions. If I have time I will consolidate them and post here.

Can someone post the N3134 (Z3134?) crossover schematic? The original JBL version is easy to find but the simplified version is elusive.
