Hello i have a pair of sony ssm f400h speakers and a ss-cn305 center i also have a pair of sansui active subwoofers i plan to pull all these drivers out and make diy speaker enclosures with the active subs built in.
My question is if i plan on using the existing cross over in the 3 way towers can i add a driver from the center speaker? Will this driver work piggy backing off the towers crossover. Any feed back will be greatly appreciated.

I am working on building my own version of Bob Crites Cornscallas. The more I learn about mixing and matching drivers and making them work (properly) together, the more I find there is to learn about it. First thing you need to know is that your existing crossover was designed for a specific set of drivers in a certain cabinet and it is not likely that it will match miscellaneous drivers from other sources. When the crossovers dont match the drivers and the drivers arent properly selected you can and will get voids and/or "bulges" in the bandwidth. Meaning that some frequencies may be too loud and others not covered at all. And that is just a beginning of what you should understand. But in the world of DIY, you can do whatever you want. I am going to!

generally center speakers are full range and low end hz is typical of approx. 80hz. Perhaps not your best choice. Can always experiment.
