Saw a interesting offer on Ebay earlier, a Fisher X1000 with brass faceplate and have never seen on of these before. Faceplate is close to mint, anyone in here ever seen one before? Must have been a earlier model as it has the darker knobs etc

That was a first generation X-1000. I have one. Quite a piece of gear. Actually, less differences than you might think.
They changes some controls in the later ones, there are two earphone spots accessible from the front panel on the later ones, where on the earlier ones there's one jack in the back, a few minor circuitry differences, but they're both nice. That brass faceplate is heavy. I bet it weighs a few pounds.

OH, I was reminded you have an X-202-B.
Very similar device but with 7591s instead of 6CA7/EL-34 outputs.
If you like the X-202-B, you'd be shocked to see how similar the X-1000 is. The X-202-B truly is the X-1000's baby sibling.
The transformers are smaller and the outputs are 7591s. The layout and controls are very similar.

Thanks, I saw the X1000 and had to look twice, darn nice looking but not the eye appeal of the newer version in my opinion..if I didnt have the 202B I'd take a more serious look at it.. never seen one like it before and bet it would sound great after restoration.. I listen to my 200B and the 202B everynight..real happy with them Still miss my 800C though, it just sits there looking at me..lol
