I must tell you, that I am lucky guy what I have friend of mine who lives in San Francisco, without him, I would never get that fantastic piece of vintage audio.

I wish to thanks all of you in that fantastic forum, I must say you that I am a member of many audio forums, but here, I have found peoples who talk about Sansui on "the same language" and respect what Sansui audio engineer gave to us those fantastic units, I hope that you understand me what I am trying to say you...

Kale, we are all just wankers compared to you. Fantastic work. Disassembling the switches is incredibly hard to do without damaging them. You must have a magic touch.
And those filter caps, $116 each! And the veneer work, beautiful. It takes a lot of patience to cut the vent slots.

I know what your saying Pete, Im a bit nervous about putting any pictures of what Im doing up on AK now........
That thing is actually better than when it came out of the factory in my opinion...
 
Outstanding work! I would be honored to let you work on my gear... he he. What speakers do you have the monster hooked too? It almost should be SP-L700/800´s like mine

Man, this thread is almost two years old but this is the first time I've seen it (as I've always spent most of my time on Turntables section).
WOW, what can I say? This is absolutely breathtaking to behold! :thmbsp:
What an awesome job you did Kale, I salute you! You initially got it for $800, but now it's priceless. Congratulations!
 
Last week I have been out of that forum, and when I came back... wow!! How many posts again in that thread about that nice receiver!
Guys, once again, thank you so much for those kind words, I really appreciated this.
After I restored that receiver, it is every day on, when I am not at my home (because of my duty), my daughters like to listen it. Mostly we listen FM stations, because the tuner is fantastic!

Pepa, about yours question; now I still dont know how I will use that web site about you asked me... But, for sure, I will post here the news about that :music:

Start by having all of your restoration put in one place-that web site of yours,and then... you'll see.
Of course, the site must be bilingual :yes:
 
Let's start by having a n00b resurrect an old thread here.

There is a reason for it though, and its not just laziness!

I wish to thank Kale for starting this thread. I recently put new drivers in my mains, seeing Kale's work, and listening to my wife prod me to do something with it; I have finally opened my g-22000. I hope mine turns out half as nice as yours there!

Ordered a set of caps for the amp, top to bottom. Hopefully they will be here within a few weeks. I may need to lean on some of you for info if re-capping her does not fix my issue.

Great reading here, lots of knowledgeable folks. I hope that I will have something to offer this community.
