like the look and effort. I'm thinking what if you added another section to the right and stepped it the same dimensions, it would neat. Actually, i would be thinking of doing that. If that was done, what would the total width be? I have 54 inches wide of space to deal with.

Wife sent me a pic of these the last time she was at Target. Thinking of grabbing 2 and putting them side by side. I have a nice piece of cypress to put across the top of them. Hope they hold up!

Homemade solid wood shelf made for CDs. Found it at a consignment shop nearby.

That box in front of it is full of LPs that need cleaning. Then I just have to find storage for the cassettes...

I built this last weekend, thanks to this thread and a few of the guys in chat for the idea. Turned out pretty well and the wife enjoys the look.

Thanks, now to find a good Yamaha CD changer and turntable. Would be nice to have a completely Yamaha system besides the R2R.

Sure does look nice, at least IMHO, and upclose it actually has some real wood, good bracing and look really desent
Slight drawbacks-the drawers are only 16" wide(and would need supports if removed to use as shelving) and center section is 32"

If I had a 20% off coupon, it might be in my music den

Nice throwback to the 70's look. I like it.

You can find similar stuff through CL and larger thrift/resale stores too.
 
Currently using this to house my 70's Technics - it did have a glass front on it and was painted blue, but I took the front off, smoothed it over and painted it silver - gets the job done :D

Too bad these are no longer made. Holds an enormous amount of equipment and has a nice CD rack. Will have to get a snapshot on here soon.

Here are my "racks" - both custom made by a buddy.

1st one - my main system / walnut

2nd one - for my secondary system not yet set-up / maple

Yep, that's him in the pic. He's self-taught and crazy talented. I bought the materials and he donated all of his time.

Thanks! He doesn't know it yet but I am on the prowl for a secondary TT and have my eyes on a mint Harman Kardon T65c - I have an offer to purchase out to the owner and waiting to hear back.

If I get the table a veneering of the deck is in his future :yes:

It's nice to have friends with talent!!

For those who havent seen mine :)

The rack was second hand at €30. little scratch here and there but has massive slabs of wood to take the weight and it rolls on wheels for easy cleaning underneath and cable management!

I have seen the exact same rack from someone else here at AK, i wonder where its from and what it cost new ...
