I wonder how reasonable would it be to have someone in Germany ship a couple bottle of wine (kloster Eberbach 2005 riesling Spatles. Cash or rare lp's for trade. great wine

Cool to know there's another sweet wine liker here. For price and a nice sweet wine and easy to find, I tend to buy a lot of Erben Auslese.

I've also gotten my wife hooked on some nice Beerenauslese we find in the area at some of the better wine stores.

You guys aren't alone. Us late harvest wine lovers do seem to be few and far between. Sadly, Maryland is one of the few states, that won't allow wine to be shipped from out of state to our homes.

Big riesling fan here, love it with spicy food. I am partial to Spatlese style over the Kabinett. The TBA's and other sweet wines are out of my price point but they are fantastic. The wife and I have been to a couple of Rieling tastings where you can try the over the top Beerenausleses etc.
Our favorite regular German wine is Karl Erbes Riesling Spatlese, which has creeped up to around $20 a bottle. Worth seeking out. We also like the J.J. Christoffel Spatlese and Auslese*** bottlings. Riesling is one of the few white wines that can age and it develops a petrol note with aging. Myself I prefer them on the young side with all of the fresh apple and peach flavors as well as the light spritz on the finish.
