I have a tendency to believe people based on conversation.
This person has nothing to gain by misrepresenting the item. This is a CL ad not E-bay. Even thought the pics are certainly Ebay worthy. As it stands they will be making any deal face to face. False pretenses would be very counter productive.

My vote goes for factory finish, or at least professionally refinished. Too nice of a job, based on the pics, to be spray cans. :thmbsp: I'll bet those scratches came from removing the components from the cabinet. :tears:

At $900, I'd be more concerned about the mismatched speaker drivers... EV in one, Calrad in the other. :scratch2:

Omegaman now owns this Barzilay cabinet with matching speakers and Fisher tube gear..oh yeah and listening stool...

I got up at 4:30AM and snuck out of the house while my wife slept. I gassed up, grabbed a Reb Bull and took off into the pre-dawn stillness in my Toyota pickup. Drove down to Tucson(135 miles), got the console at 7:00(nice people), wrapped it in plastic and strapped it to the bed of my truck and drove back. Got back at 9:15AM and the wife thought I had been gone less than 1 hour

All according to the Master plan

I am going to find out if the paint job is original. If it has been re-painted it is a good job.

If I had my way I would strip and refinish it to wood, for sure

The power transformer has been changed on the amp.

I got the unit and components separate and have not powered anything up

Now I got three tube consoles.

I had to give my wife $300 dollars

Those speaker cabinets are as big as my VM 869 behind it

The more I look at it, the more I am starting to believe it was painted black

A good job but not original finish I am starting to think

I do have a thread titled CASE REFINISH BLUNDER in solid state, so I have experience runining finishes

I will leave it for now since I am still working on my '59 Blaupunkt Vollestereo

I paid $100 dollars for it

But I also got the 5 year extended tail-light warranty for $250

Then there was the state excise tax...$80.00, federal excise tax, country and city tax, sales tax

Set up charge

A delivery charge (even though I picked it up)

Something called an extortion tax?

oh yeah and I got the undercoating

I also got the listening stool for free but I had to pay separate handling and processing
