Girl problems...

You're a sophomore in college, so you're young still, so are your bros...

As advised above, stay out of their business, nothing good will come of that.

Don't move out, your bro will need you when he realizes what a nut-job she is and he gets the balls to break up with her - note that this will not happen at the same time, so you'll be called on for the "my girlfriend is driving me nuts" conversation as well as the "oh my god it's over, I'm so alone" conversation...

Just avoid the girl. Don't tell her how to cook, don't enable her when she wants to talk about her relationship with your buddy, just walk away. Put your stuff in your room so if she leaves the gate open or appliances on etc it's not your stuff that gets trashed... It'd be like if your roommate had a puppy: you don't want to puppy to pee on your stuff? put it where the puppy can't get to it...

As a sophomore, your buddy is more important to your immediate future, one day he will realize the same thing.

You state that you and three others are living "in a little house of our own." Does one of you actually own the house and the others are boarders? If so, this changes the dynamic considerably.
Assuming you are renting from a third-party owner, here's my take: It is likely you are not the only one in the house annoyed by the girlfriend. A frank discussion with all parties may lead to some type of accord, or at least setting some boundaries.
It is also possible the girlfriend wants your brofriend to leave this arrangement and move into a place with her. If he does, your problem is solved. If he doesn't, it could signal the beginning of the end for those two. So just bide your time.
If you have reached the point where you absolutely dread going home and don't see their behavior or the situation improving, then do what's best for you. It has been more than 30 years since I shared a house with multiple roommates. Moving out and renting a cheap apartment on my own was one of the best decisions I ever made. The drama just wasn't worth the few dollars I saved.

Get a girl to move in with you and remove the coffee table. As most people know, two women don't get along to well under one roof. Now with the coffee table gone, they will have plenty of room for that cat fight that's gonna happen. Sit back and enjoy. Have a beer.

I thought about that at first, but figured it would be trouble like you stated. So why go there just move in with a chick and be done with it!

I would add that you need to be honest about the situtation as you are contradicting yourself:

Don't get me wrong, she is a really wonderful girl and I really enjoy having her around.. but she really gets on my nerves a lot.

So basically what I'm trying to get at is that this girl is crazy and as much as I love her and enjoy having her around, I equally can't stand having her around.

I would just avoid her. I doubt the relationship will last.

No offense, but it sounds like you are bothered more by their problems than they are, so my advice would be to move out, and I certainly wouldn't get involved in their relationship problems.

Might seem like a lot of trouble, but it could save your friendship with your buddy, and then you won't be going crazy.

Also, I wouldn't recommend room-mating with friends again. I learned that ages ago.

Sounds like she has issues with her boyfriend that she's actually trying to resolve at your expense.
After more broken marriages than you can count on one hand I finally found a woman that has an insatiable urge to "right what is wrong", "fix those things that are broken" and "heal the things that are sick."
She's happy and I am too!

Relationships...

Well, as far as the audio stuff goes, you could put things on switchable power bars (that way you also get some 'protection' when the power's on, and the filtration from the better-quality ones).

As to the other...FLEE!!! DON'T get in the middle, and don't move in with friends. Those are truisms for a reason, and hittin' it ain't gonna be worth the price you'll pay in the long run!

Yup. Unfortunately to say, sometimes system needs to break down so there is visibility that it needs fixing.

A former roommate of mine moved into one of those houses with a bunch of people, after I moved out of our place. I think it was five or six guys in the house. One of them never cleaned his dishes, and never got the hint about it either. The others decided to collect all of his dirty dishes for a couple of weeks. They then piled them all up on his bed. He got that hint.

The best way to make an enemy is to move in with a friend.

In my life, this has applied to girlfriends, too- which is why I'm single at 38 after moving in with 3 of my girlfriends (not at the same time :))!

The best way to make an enemy is to move in with a friend.

I knew two girls in college that had been best friends all their life - kindergarten, grammar school, high school, etc. They moved in together in the dorms their first year at college.

At the end of the first semester, one of the girls was engaged to be married, and the other wasn't even invited to the wedding.

I never had a problem with friends for room mates. We got along fine. I even shared a house with 2 girls for a year. That was interesting, especially when my girlfriend moved in.

One year we had 9 people in a house. 4 of them girls with no (serious) ties to any of the guys in the house. The only way to get along was to completely stay out of anyone else's business. Playing house together doesn't really work. Everything from "who drank my milk" to who slept with who just consumes waaaay too much time and energy.

I'd go with the move out advice.

You can't have a girlfriend living with you when you have roommates. It's either roommates or live in girlfriend, not both.

You don't have a girl problem. You have a roommate problem..... your roommate shouldn't let the girl live there.... that's the issue. If he wants to live with the girl then the two of them need to get their own place.
