Goodmans maxim tweeter repair ?

I have a pair of goodmans maxims that I got for cheap however one of the tweeters produces no sound at all anyway to repair this ? And if not what should I replace it with

Or the remake?

The old ones are very desirable, but I know nothing about the tweeters. The v2's use an audax tweet that's pretty common among budget bookshelves of that era.

I would suggest just give them a close inspection to confirm all internal wiring is intact, and also remove tweeter and carefully test for functionality out-of-cabinet.

Check the wiring of tweeters . Test them separate with the bass off of that’s possible.
To be sure it’s not some other issue .

I’m still trying to find a good article on seeing if crossovers are bad and how to fix them .
A lot of old speakers use higher end components.

If speakers are old(er) and have original capacitors and resistors, chances are, they need to be updated; especially when we're talking 30+ years old. The ESR values in caps change, their values drift, they leak/dry up, etc., and just need to be changed. Inductors (coils) are typically ok and don't degrade over time unless the wire has somehow delaminated. There are TONS of "articles" within the Speakers or DIY sub forums that talk about crossovers in general. Or just google it. But it's impossible to teach someone crossover design in a quick manner as there are so many variables involved if building from scratch.

There any threads ? That of discussions of the basics on xovers ?
I had to abandoned a. Open baffle project on here 6 years ago because the crossovers I did not understand.
I don’t think high-end speaker Brands get the credit they deserve for how hard it is to design a crossover !!

It ain't rocket science when a person understands filter designs and what each piece in the crossover, or other electrical functions, does in the circuit. But it IS rocket science when a person doesn't know. My advice, if you don't know about crossover circuits, don't try to build them.....go for something that has a crossover already designed. Google is your friend.

The easiest test, assuming the drivers aren't soldered in, is to swap the tweeters between cabinets and see if the problem remains with the cabinet or moves with the tweeter. That will give you the first clue as to where the problem lies.

Sorry for the late reply that's a good idea they are soldered on but soldering isn't that difficult
