The work done on it makes it a plug n’ play . Description and pictures pushed it higher .
Interesting . My Pioneer PL 51A looks similar .

To be fair, that one was fully restored as well. With a stock plinth, it would have been in the $800-$1000 range. But, you’re right. That plinth isn’t worth $2300.

Beautiful table. A lot of work goes into something that nice, and where else can you buy one just like it? I guess there was someone who thought it was worth it.

TT in OP sure is pretty and it sounds like a lot of work was done to both both appearance and operating condition.
Someone thought it was worth it.

That's the sort of workmanship that Chris Harban of Woodsong Audio would produce for a Thorens TD-124, Garrard 301 or Linn Sondek LP12. Check out some of his stuff if you think that one from the OP is gorgeous. Chris is well known within the Linn Community.

Beautiful, but the way they did the grain on the sides bugs me. I understand why the side grain is vertical to match the top, but it clashes too much with the horizontal grain on front.

I don’t think you are seeing what they did. it is a correct way to apply veneer. It’s one sheet of veneer. Continuous grain from the front to the top, and from the top down the sides.

Haven't seen any pioneer worked over to that level by an aker. There is some work involved and a nice veneer. Lots of polishing, too.

Not sure why the complaining about the price?

It is all about supply and demand and what the economy will allow sales to go to, people are now looking for these and with a full restoration the seller got what he asked for,Get over it.

Epay provides a worldwide audience and allows prices to go where they are.

If anyone here was sitting on ten of these fully restored they would have the dancing banana on their post.

I'm seriously considering buying one and doing a similar restoration.

Hi Pontiac,

Now that's a great looking PL-570 as it has genuine timber veneer used on it which is reflective of the original plastic wrap garbage that Pioneer used. How they ever used rubbish like that on an upper end model is beyond me I must say.

Whoever did this did a stunning job as it is very time consuming.
