Grado cartridge

I'm using a Grado cartridge in my Thorens TD165 tt. I get a hum with this cartridge when the tone arm is in the middle of the record. What is a good affordable cartridge to replace the grado?

There is porbally nothing wrong with your Grado cart. Most will pick up slight motor hum or noise I have one on an ARXA and I get a faint hum but during playback I do not hear it. Try moving the wee wires exiting the Cart.. Before trying any drastic measures

From reading posts on AK over the years I've gotten the impression that Grado and Thorens may not be the best match. I put one on my TD-165 and had a lot of hum but I didn't spend any time trying to correct it. I moved to to my ARXA and don't have any problem. But, that is just my experience.

If you're set on using the Grado on the Thorens I think you'll find that some folks here can help you remedy the problem. :yes:
