Great sounding Country LP's

I'll second "Wanted! The Outlaws," and I'll add something that's not straight country... New Riders of the Purple Sage - NRPS. Actually, their first three or four LPs sound pretty darn good.

Is there an "SR" in the deadwax? I have two Yoakam albums cut by Ricker and they both sound amazing.

BTW, Dwight has some "punk street cred" as he often shared bills with The Blasters, X and other retro punk bands in that area at that time.

The original release is a DMM on Quiex vinyl. The MFSL is since Music Direct bought the label. I really, REALLY doubt that they will better a first pressing (OP, find one if you can, you won't be sorry).

I hate genre labels. The real point is that someone who has a classic rock background and is looking to expand will probably like John Hiatt and find him "country-ish".

BTW, another "country-ish" band that made a couple fine sounding albums is Lone Justice.

I could easily see Dwight Yoakum, Lone Justice and John Hiatt on a bill together.
 
Lots of good sounding Emmylou Harris on vinyl. "Luxury Liner" and "Roses in the Snow" are personal favorites.
 
Just some numbers in the deadwax. On the inside LP sleeve it states "Originally mastered by Eddie Schreyer at Capitol Studios Hollywood CA.

I've been playing CD's all night, mainly my newly purchased 2011 remastered Pink Floyd and Queen CD's, which I think sound pretty good on my Rega Appollo. Then I just put on Hillbilly Deluxe, Dwight Yoakam and its completely night and day. My stereo rig sounds 10 notches better. The vinyl is just sounding so much more life like.

I love Emmy lou. I used to have "Roses in the Snow" which featured alot of Ricky Skaggs, another old favorite of mine. Luxury Liner featured the great James Burton. She's also recorded with Albert Lee. The woman had great taste in guitar players.

Ry Cooder, who has also put out some sonic wonders, would also fit well with that group... and if I recall correctly he played on some of Hiatt's records. An amazing guitarist, particularly slide.

I just had my record collector guy put Bring the Family aside. I listened to these cuts live on youtube and wow. I'd never really listened to John Hiatt before. I'm really liking what I hear. That Sonny Landreth, wow.
 
Emmylou... Don't forget her first, Pieces of the Sky, and my personal fave, Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town. All sound terrific.
 
Rosanne Cash - King's Record Shop. I like Cash covering "Tennessee Flat Top Box". Charlie Daniels - Saddle Tramp. Love the cuts "Wichita Jail" and "Sweetwater Texas". kd lang is amazing. Dwight Yoakam and his killer guitar player Pete Anderson. Chet Atkins stuff still blows me away. Buck Owens had good stuff. The Statler Brothers "Flowers on the Wall" album is great. Johnny Cash is a legend. I could go on and on.
 
There is a white vinyl pressing of Lucinda Williams (again, not actually country but hangs out in the neighborhood) latest album "Relish" that sounds very nice. I keep hoping that someday "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road" will get a vinyl issue. That is one of my top five favorites ever.
