For long term storage, should acustic guitar strings be slackened?

I don't....but I DO use a humidifier (Planet Waves) in the winter.

I probably should, but don't. I pulled out my classical guitar couple of nights ago and after having it for 32 years in varying environmental conditions everything is still straight and still sweet sounding.

Tuned down one whole note (which mildly reduces tension on the neck) and ideally stored with some sort of humidification device.

What sleddogman said. :thmbsp: You want to take a little of the tension off the neck, but not remove it totally.

Yes, especially if you live in an area with a lot of changed in weather through the seasons.
