guitar tubes for hi-fi?

are old stock guitar amp tubes not suitable for hi-fi use? i'm talking about preamp/poweramp/rectifier tubes from a guitar amps. will they be noisy or distort easily in hi-fi use?

radioshack carries some korean made tubes in their housebrand stock. the ones i have seen are very poorly made. the internal structure was crooked and the glass envelope wasnt even straight sided.
