Hi Guys - thanks so much for the birthday wishes. I knew Chris would send me a German birthday greeting - so amusing that I could still understand it - 40 years post high school Deutsch.
I had a great day. I am proactive about my birthday now that I am widowed, so I invited Greg's brother, his son and Greg's best friend to go to the KU football game on Saturday. We had a great time - tail gated, enjoyed the band, got sunburned and had alot of laughs. Yesterday on my birthday I started out with my usual 7 am Jazzercise class, was showered with cards, gifts and good wishes from the regular crew there. Got on stage to help teach two disco songs with the instructor. Went to lunch with a great friend who just moved back to KC from Florida. I am SO GLAD she is back - she and her husband came to my house that first Christmas after Greg died, when I wanted to die as well. Last night I had dinner with a high school friend - she made hot spiced shrimp and topped the dinner off with a chocolate cheesecake pie. Add in about 150 FB messages, texts, phone calls, greeting calls, a bouquet of flowers from my niece, two international phone calls and these kind messages from my AK brothers - I feel very lucky. I am having a birthday open house Sunday for family, friends and Jazzercisers - it has made a difficult week a very good week.
