Heathkits

Heathkit AS-48 speakers at a YS. They weigh a ton. Why anyone would sell them for $5 is beyond me, but I'm not complaining. Any opinions on them? Did they use JBL drivers?

LE14A and LE20-1, S99 equivalents, aka Lancer 99, the JBL version came with fancy fretwork grilles.... :yes:

Odd how and why the cut the cabinets for them. Apparently the cabs were used with other drivers. So, they are JBL drivers in there?

I'll give you $20.00 for those and a double espresso Nice grab. I built a huge Heathkit TV with my dad when I was very little. I think breathing all those solder fumes at a tender age made me what I am today.

Heathkit used a wide variety of drivers; I've seen them with Altec, JBL, Jensen and AR.

Stock JBL version is made the same way, to cram 14" woofers in "bookshelf" cabs.

Heathkit used alot of Philips drivers too. One of my favorite Heathkits used a rear firing 15 inch woofer and front firing Philips drivers.
