My father visited your town (Arromanches-les-Bains) in WWII.... he wasn't a tourist. Welcome to AK

Welcome Pascal from Colorado. My wife have your region as a possible retirement location in the future. Leave some records in the stores for me!

It's a nice location, not too far north of Caen (the "big" city in the area) and closer still to Bayeux ... yes, that Bayeux. France is not the cheapest place to retire but if you can get legal residence and get in on the national healthcare system ("securitie"), your cost of living is reduced considerably over what it might be in The States, depending on your health issues.

PS: It does stay on the cool side up there, but the waterfront properties are really nice.

Hi everyone.
Glad to join you on this forum.
I am the happy owner of a reel to reel AKAI GX-625.
Take care !
Pascal
Welcome to the AK boards. I'm also in France and know your region very well ... Honfleur and Deauville in particular. I live due east of y'all, @ the Three Frontiers -- where France, Germany and Luxembourg meet. The "Shengen" thing.

Welcome to AK! My family took a trip to Normandy pre-Covid and really enjoyed the people and the sights. We did the "Band of Brothers" tour up on the coast and it was amazing to see all the WW II monuments and landscapes.
