Help: Accuphase XLR pin 3 hot into XLR pin 2 hot? (no unbalanced avail)

I'm picking up an old Accuphase G-18 equalizer to offset my hearing loss. My research shows that the G-18 has pin 3 hot.

How do I resolve this hook up anomaly, as the Accuphase has pin 3 hot, and my Boulder 865 has pin 2 hot? There are no unbalanced inputs on my Boulder.

If you try the polarity reverser, make sure to get two...

Or, just grab your soldering iron and switch 2 and 3 on one end of two cables, and label appropriately. Only necessary if you know that the EQ is polarity-correct on input v. output. And that matters to you.

If you're inserting into a balanced system then you don't need to do anything or be worried about anything either.

If you go in with the waveform going positive on a certain pin, then it'll come out of the eq on the same one...as long as it's a true balanced interface in and out. So if you are applying the + to pin 3 of the eq in, it'll be + going on pin 3 of the output. So irrelevant in the system context of which pin Accuphase considered positive.

+ pin 3 is what I consider the old pro standard. I liked it that personally since it was easy to remember and teach as 3-2-1, hi-low-shield. In 2 + was more of the world standard and has become more typical. But if it's a device you're going into and out of, then it's a non-issue how they labeled it or considered it.

Pin 2 hot is the standard that's been around for a long time.

But, to the point of pass though like EQ, yeah, it seems like it would be not a consideration.
