the owner says they look homemade. He pulled the boxes off the wall in the basement.

Does anyone recognize the speakers?

Not from that distance and photo size. Could be anything, but to me they look like standard issue, 60's era replacement speakers, four 8" with either a 3.5 or 4" being used for the tweeter. Really need the manufacturing EIA codes stamped on the speakers to be sure.

The cabinet construction reminds me of an organ tone cabinet. Other than that, I got nuttin'.
Agreed, my feeling is also that it's a tone box, but i surely don't recognize much beyond that. The openings in the baskets have me thinking maybe Quam.

My sentiments exactly (albeit a small one; maybe a home organ).

They look to contain decent looking 8" extended range drivers with AlNiCo magnets; might come in handy for something. If they're cheap and close by... they might be worth the effort of picking up.

Setchell Carlson....... I have the same drivers that I pulled from an open back cabinet.

edit.....actually the pictured drivers look like they could be tens..... mine are eights.
