Help identifying jbl speakers

Can anyone please help identify this jbl speaker.
Description says it’s a 16in speaker with separate tweeter horn.
That’s all I got.

That does not look like any JBL I've ever seen.

Exactly what leads you to say this is a JBL speaker?

I'm guessing that it was a diy component kit(available in old catalogs) with a JBL crossover enclosure peeking out of the back. If they measured the cutout or frame and not the piston/cone, then the slightly larger 16" size would make some sense.

Some furniture companies (ex. Barzilay) built quality speaker boxes & console units with various manufacturers' components, JBL included.
We shouldn't expect that anyone who'd sell them for that low of a price would know how to measure the drivers properly.
One thing's for sure, some lucky bastard out there is kickin' it up with their happy dance.

Yeah, Barzilay came to mind and the names of any others I don't recall. The corner joint and fit on the far unit makes me think diy.

People not in the know will often measure the whole driver, including the frame, not just the cone.
