Help me identify some weird "Bose" speakers

Person claims they're Bose, but I can't find anything like these online. Says they don't have a model number. Described as having 15" woofer

I don't know of Bose ever making anything with a 15" woofer, but I could be wrong. Those just reek of older Altec designs--be interesting to know whats behind that cloth.

Bose never made a model that looked like that, and I'm pretty sure they never made a model with a 15" woofer either.

Almost definitely not Bose and I don't think Altec either. Look either homebrew or some sort of economy grade speaker designed to look like an Altec product.

I remember a Japanese company that made decent Altec knockoffs, not sure of these though. The tops are really ratty. Missing edge trim, and don't really look like a match to the rest of the speaker(s).

Considering the dramatic departure in style and woodgrain, I would hazard a guess that what we're looking at is a factory-made bottom cabinet with a home-built, probably hi-frequency addition on top. What's in those cabinets is anybody's guess.

Looks like a Klipsch copy, ....or sompin, ...like the "Belle" with a full front cover.

I dunno, something tells me those are junk. The front edges look like thin particle boat share the veneer fell off. Worth a look if it is close.

After having another look, I'm going to add my DIY vote. Notice that the (vinyl!) grain on the top boards goes front to back - really looks like a couple of scrap pieces were used. To that add the different grill styles and it really screams "amateur".

Does the bottom half look familiar to anyone?
As per swechsler's comment above about the wrong way vinyl grain, the top looks home-hacked, but not the bottom.
Maybe the top half was added on to an existing cabinet.
Otherwise why go to the trouble of putting beveled edges on the bottom grill?
Might be some decent drivers hiding in there, but I wouldn't buy without a peek first.

I don't know why but the perspective given by the grass and the specks in the concrete tells my eye that these speakers are tiny. Like not even big enough for a 15" woofer to fit. Maybe it's just camera perspective. In any case they do look sorta cheap.

If we assume the pieces of blue tape are 1" wide, that would make them about 10" front to back, and at least double that side to side. So I think the 15" woofer is possible, although I doubt the cabinet volume is ideal for a woofer of that size. DIY Kabuki, maybe?
