Help Needed: Shun Mook Mpingo Discs

Try what both ways? I just have the wooden door knobs (or cupboard knobs, actually - they're too small to be door knobs).

I can't find a wood block big enough to be a platform under the TT.... these knobs are the closest thing I can come up with.

If they make a difference under the TT as a mass coupler...Try placing them on the speaker cabinet....Some people claim doing this can be be heard ,,, Even placing quarters on a speaker they claim is audible...But i,m a doughter.

Ok, I tried them under the TT. Well, between the TT and the Symposium platform, raising the TT's feet so they did not touch the platform.

Yep.... sounded better. Clearer, more distinctive bass, better imaging, other stuff (I was listening to Fragile, the recent release mastered by Steve Hoffman).

On the speaker cabinet?!?! For what purpose? It's not coupling anything...

As for quarters on the speaker cabinet... at least I can spend them afterwards! :D

GaryP....That the point to this debate....Putting them on top of speaker cabinet is a fools joke!!! But no body but you would admit it...Thank god you came forword with the right response.

Looking forward to hearing.. er... rather reading your findings on the
mpingo mook discs...

This thread has been rather humorous reading ...something far less
expensive that works for me is a roll of putty tape placed over my
cdp's cover... and it can be easily shaped to conform to esthetics

How soon will you be auditioning the discs ?

Best wishes

:D :D :D :D

I'll admit it.... sometimes I gotta lighten up!

If I ever do say that door knobs on top of the speaker cabinets make a difference, the guys with the white coats will be looking for me.... :sigh:

On the other hand, I'm sure I'd be able to hear them if I was cranking it! Sorta like a rattle until they fell off.... :D
