Help to identify Philips Noname CD-player

Hi everyone!
Does anybody know what beast is here? It is for sale and looks cool but I see no model name and can’t find any info. It uses cdm2 and tda1540.

Components match the CD150-152. PCB also matches the 150/151.

But the front panel isn't right. Could it be a prototype? The power button doesn't look production at all.

This was my first thought: looks like a prototype. And it is unique and intriguing... Do you think that it is worth considering?

Depends what you're looking for. If you're interested in the history of the development of Philips CD players, maybe. If you're looking for a 7030/1540 player, maybe. Some think the 1540 to be an excellent-sounding DAC, even though only 14-bit (4x oversample filtered by the 7030).

But bear in mind its age, and whether the laser is still good, and how much restoration is needed (e.g. the well-known problem with Philips blue electrolytics).

Only you can decide how much it's worth to you.

Thank you. I have a French battery TDA1543 DAC and I quite appreciate Philips devices in general. That’s why after I decided to buy some nice CD-player I searched for Philips. What models can you advice as good not too expensive transports if I already have got a TDA1543 DAC?

ps. Just noticed there's no sign of the wooden case in the rear panel view. Where has it gone? Was it photographed at the same time as the cover was removed? There is a folded steel cover on it, though. Maybe the wooden cover was an after-market (DIY?) cosmetic?

It seems that the front panel is considerably larger that the rear panel. Challenge continues!
And I like that power switch button. Looks like it is quite well built - plastic around it seems to be made exactly for this button.

That's a variation on my Magnavox (above) I linked in my previous (#7) post with 2 x TDA1540 aka the Philips CD150. Here's a link to a recent review.

Thanks for that link. It's nice to see the impulse response of the 7030. They used an extraction method I suggested a while ago:
