HELP Unique situation with Technics SL7 (video included)

^^ this. Take the cover off and you can just spin the belt by hand. if the belt pops off, just put it back on. If its stretched it needs a new one anyway. Turn it until the arm is far enough over that you can get the screw out and put it in from the correct direction.

I’d not advise this as it’s very difficult if not impossible to drive a worm gear backwards.
 
If the gear doesn't easily rotate in one direction it will in the other. You are over thinking this. Even just pushing the tonearm a tiny bit to the left will likely show you which way the gear wants to turn.

So the brass wheel on the upper left hand corner of the white wheel is the thing I turn by hand? In the case of the SL7 it's below the wheel but same thing. I guess, which direction do I turn it is the only remaining question other than, do I turn it by hand?

I know I have so many questions but that is because I do not want to break the turntable as these are becoming more difficult to get in very decent shape.

I know I am overthinking it, because I am afraid of breaking things. Silly right? Do I turn the brass part by hand or with a tool? thanks

I am going to be very careful because the belt and Lube are a week old. So I am just waiting for a confident moment because I do not have a gentle mechanical hand.

Oh, the problem is it's already stuck to the left due to the pressure from the screw stuck on the side of the plastic inner cover.

I am now contemplating all this advice before I continue and to be honest, I was feeling lazy after work today so I decided not to try it. I want to make sure I have a clear head before I do.
 
Okay guys, well thanks to your help I dealt with the first issue successfully.

Now I have one (last hopefully) minor issue. Please check this video.

Please note I did not mean I used the pulley. I misspoke. I used the brass wheel.

 
I think the peg closest to the top of the frame should have a T shape to it. If it does, it will go through the board at the large cutout at the top of the slot, then slide down and keep itself in position. If not its probably just held by the cover.

the arm has some play, as it rocks back and forth it kicks the motor on. I forget the fine points of the sensor operation but basically the record groove starts to angle the arm inward, the motor kicks on until it reads no angle and then it stops.
