I am looking at a set of Heresy 2's. The guy says they have Crites tweeters and Crites risers. Is that a good thing? They look to be in great shape but the guy wants $750 and I want to know what I'm getting. Thanks for any advice

Bob Crites recently passed away...here is his and his son's site and they are top notch in the field of Klipsch speakers... https://critesspeakers.com

probably different tweeter diaphragms...perhaps titanium (as they are a popular item for replacement) and the risers usually are replicas of the OEM risers that were optional to the original purchaser...good luck

Thanks Bill

That was still high price.
I know that I'm typically a few years behind the curve, but I've sold a super nice set of HII's (KP-201) with Crites Ti tweets and XO for $400 (about 5 years ago). But I don't look to make money at all, I just want the equip to go to a loving home.

I've had 3 pair of H1's that I've loved. My brother has one of my old pair of H1's and found some H2's for a good price recently. The H1's sound MUCH better than the 2's. Super heavy mid-range and highs are somewhat muted. $750 is about right for my area but I'd rather have the 1's.

ask him if the whole tweeter unit has been replaced or if it is the stock phenolic tweeter diaphragms that have been upgraded to titanium ones. New titanium tweeter diaphragms cost about $100.00/pr USD upgraded compression drivers a lot more. In all likelihood it is the diaphragms that have been upgraded but so you can place a real value on the speakers you do need to know if the compression drivers have also been upgraded.

Exotic wood veneers on the cabinet will demand higher prices for the early Heresy models. Of course, that will also depend on the condition of those finishes.
