Yeah, I was a bit thrown by that, they have the can isolated on a wafer but have a ground strap soldered from the can to one of the bolts holding the wafer. Thought that was odd, I just don't want any surprises or zaps from it if you know what I mean.
 
A8AD3FF1-B3C1-4249-9863-D8C6E8EF5F91.jpeg I only have two HH Scott units, a 340a receiver and a 311-D tuner, and I love them both. The 340 came with a metal exterior case in good condition but I didn’t care for the look. So I had an unused Marantz WC-122 Wood case in my stash which happens to fit the Scott almost perfectly. After a few easy mods to the Marantz case including some gold metal mesh, I’m pleased with the results. Scott chassis seem to resist corrosion better than most others over the years. Both of my units are practically blemish free.
 
My sister has some Scott S-11 speakers I grabbed for her. I think the crossover caps need replacing, but she’d like to hold off until they completely die. Not the brightest idea, but they’re hers so it’s not for me to say. Great speakers though, very thick bass.

Apologies for the poor photo quality. These are pics from the original listing. Once I clean them up I'll post more pics.

I just pulled these from a barn. As you can see they were in a console but are now sitting on my work bench waiting for some TLC. They look ok on the face but really need a good cleaning and probably a lot more (they were not played for years).

My first tube gear (I mostly have Marantz ss)...

Yes, thank you.
They were in a cabinet with a closed door on the front. This might have saved the faces cosmetically, however the back was wide open - so this is where the TLC will come in.

I like to thank the late Billy V. may he rest in peace. He mentor me and handed off to me alot of these pieces. And a big thanks to HHfest, Jim M. for pieces parts and all those that have shared so freely their knowledge on how to make these shine again.

That looks absolutely great! I have a LK72 that looks a lot like your before pic - and badly needs cleaned. I hope you don't mind if I ask a few questions...
What did you use to clean/polish the aluminum?
Were you able to save the lettering on the chassis?
What paint did you use for the transformers?

Thanks for the kind words!
I used Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish on the inside and top chassis. Could not save the lettering...trade-offs...
The transformers were painted with hi-temp flat black spray paint and then hit with a few coats of clear coat. Can't recall which brand, but any should work.
I took the front faceplate off and ran it in the dishwasher for a short-cycle.
