I think Bose products are overpriced and inferior.
Having said that, I thought the video was unfunny and somewhat effete. It pretty much strung together all the Bose bashing cliches we nod and wink at.
The salesman was a poor salesman. He was too intent on denigrating her audio choice without offering a viable alternative. There are other products that sound pretty good (from what I've read in professional reviews) that are in her price range. Heck, a sale is a sale. They should stock budget systems for women like her. They should also own a Waveguide and demonstrate its shortcomings and emphasizing the positives of systems near that price point.
Yes, the customer in the skit was brainwashed by Bose BS but that's no reason to act snobbish or argue with her. Some gentle education might have given her a goal to which to aspire.
Not everyone is interested in paying the cost of a nice, high end system. They aren't willing to do the amount of research needed to construct a good sounding budget system. Too often we have our head up our...well, you get the point.
Hats off to AKer's who've taken the time to help out those who want to go a little further without getting obsessive; building budget systems for friends and family.
Finally, I believe AK has a byline, a slogan, but right now for the life of me I can't remember what it is? Anybody want to help?
