Very interesting and impressive project!
But I'm a stupid Swede and new into TT so I fail to understand how the tonearm is attached at the pivot point. Some kind of magnet or special bearing?
Probably is in your description but my English is a bit lacking in technological terms.

The tonearm is supended by a string (thread) kind of gravity arm. The string give to the tonearm all movement necesary, rotation and up and down, but there is some extra movement that you dont want, like side and back and forward, to void those extra movemet and keep the tonear aligned is necesary a magnet, that is aligned with the string, to keep it steady in one position.
Instead a magnet you could use a bath of silicone oil.

So I modified the cart holder, so now the pivoting point is almost at the same level than the platter, and the cart offset angle could be adjusted simetrically.
If i was adjusted using the screw that hold it the tonearm weight would lose symmetry with the tonearm making hard to adjust the azimuth and antiskating.
