Homemade Acoustic Panels

I had a horrible slap echo between parallel walls in my living room. Made a 4' x 8' x 4" frame, glued 4-2' x 4' x 3" panels of acoustic egg crate foam from PE and covered it with burlap (Very cheap.). Hung it on one wall. Works like a dream.

I did the same thing with a flat surface that is right behind and to the right of my listening position. The acoustic foam worked great.

I've have had the same experience. The perfect choice of sitting locations and epoch audio recreation is always a slide rule away.

Dave,

Nicely done. The burlap itself also contributes to some of the absorption qualities IME. That's a reason I abandoned it as a speaker grill material unless very fine.

Also, love your stereo stand design. Now if those barrels were full of Jamaican Rum, you have an even more stable platform, at least until you started tapping into it.:drunk: :D

way cool with the oak barrel speakers.. Who cares what it sounds like. If it looks that good and music comes out, it's a winner... Sort of like Bang & Olefson

I have a couple vintage aluminum beer kegs kickin' around hmmmmm
