Horrible hum on Technics SL-D3

I was using a Stanton L500AL cart with no issues then switched to the Ortofon 2m red and now have a horrible hum. Any thoughts. i would like to stick with the 2M red

Cartridge wiring crossed? Table ground wire? 2 issues off the top.

Check the pins inside the end of the arm. Prod them with something as one might be stuck.

This is a related question...I was testing some vinyl today on my SL-D3 and the left speaker was out. Then after checking the speaker wiring I tuned in the radio. Both speakers, no problem. Then I took off the cartridge and checked the connections, they seemed fine. I am stumped.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
