How do I..."chat" on AK?

How does the "Chat" function work on this website?Does someone have to start it up,admin.or moderators?If I try to click on it,it won't do anything.Is there a certain time AKer's "chat"?Was just wondering..... :scratch2: Rob

what operating system are you running retrokeeper? At work we use Widows 2000, I can't get it to work either.

Below the forum index is a list of members currently online. Below that is a box, which lists the members in chat. The header for that box reads:

Members currently in AK Chat: 12 Click here to join in!

Where the word "here" is located, you click on that spot. The cursor doesn't turn into a 'pointing finger', nor does the word 'here' become underlined, to indicate a link. It just works. You gotta have a little faith.

Unless, of course, your OS doesn't support that, in which case, you're SOL.

I have to use the Ctrl button and click. Pop-up blocker works too well sometimes.

Try this.Double click on chat and it will open for you.Click twice real quicklike. :thmbsp:

I don't think it's a win2k issue, as the computers that I have that run 2000 run chat fine. However, I believe a firewall will prevent access, or cranked up internet security settings.....

I just checked it out for the first time this weekend. Very cool! And It works with Win 98SE.
