How Do You Set Azimuth?

Does anybody use a volt meter and a test record vs setting by ear or by eye for azimuth?I may try using a volt meter.

Most gimbaled tonearms don't allow for azimuth adjustment, so for most users azimuth is fixed and therefore not an issue. Two of my 'tables are fitted with unipivot tonearms that allow for fine adjustment of azimuth. I use a Fozgometer and the Analogue Productions Ultimate Analogue Test LP.

Did you find the Fozgometer to be a good investment? I read that one can use a volt meter set on low voltage AC and measure test tone first in one channel,then the other.It says to measure the channel that doesn't have the tone as well to measure cross talk.Moving the headshell tilt until both channels give about the same measurement is how azimuth is made right.

My Traveler had no adjustment so I used shims at the cartridge...the arm was slightly off from the factory
