I dislike modern ceramic sockets. I would look at micanol-based ones. These usually outlast the amp's owner.

I would have preferred Micanol five pins for my amp rebuild because, you guessed it, the original Micanols had bad contacts. No amount of cleaning or reshaping worked over the long term. Because I could not find new Micanol five pin sockets and being a bit gun shy, I did not want to use even NOS and resorted to ceramic with, at least since last November, no problems with these amps, which I use every day.
(It would have been a lot easier to use the Micanols. Let's just say that my trusty Greenlee punch was indispensable .)

I'm thinking about cathode bypassing caps for my amp. I'm not sure what the voltage is. I can measure it easily but it is across the house and I'm lazy. This idea just came to me this afternoon.
