Greetings from RojoLand!

13, from 1950s Webcors to an early-'80s ReVox B77 Mk-II.

Take care,

J. E. Knox "The Victor Freak"

I HAD 35, but got it down to "only" 5. Turns out.... you have to keep them all in running shape.... that takes effort! AND SPACE!!!

Soooo.... yeah. Down to my 5 favorites.

Yes, I met a guy with 6...but none were working. He never got around to fixing them. He used to poo-poo me for buying on eBay and paying hundreds. He bragged how he got some of them at swap meets for $5 - $20.

Space is a big issue with me too. I learned to turn them towards the wall as I have to store on the floor. I kicked one when it was facing out.

7 for me. Only 1 is non functional.

That is great!

2 of my 3 have issues. Noticed yesterday one may need a belt, getting slippage. It is a day to day thing with R/R. One day fine, next day shot. That is my limited experience. Maybe others have had more luck than I have. When I got them none of them had issues. But some had trouble a week later.

I have one now, but 3 over the years: Teac 2300, Akai GX-77 (my son has this one now), and my current deck: Pioneer RT-1011L

For me right now, another deck would be difficult, due to the WAF concerns.

So,
Let me see:
TEAC A6300 that started all,
Otari 5050 II
Revox A77
Tandberg 64
TEAC X10R and
Webcore (forgot the #)
Uher 4200 portable...

I had more at one point but I sold a few....

When I left Seattle, I sold two and gave away two. Now I have none. I sold about 200 tapes then too.

What occurred to make you go from 4 to 0? Factor in 200 tapes suggesting you were more then just a casual adherent. Did you move into a cabin in the woods?

None. But I prefer to think of it as "none as of yet" :p

When I'm in a position where space allows it, I've thought about getting one. The Pioneer RT-1020L, Akai GX-630D, and several of the Teac machines are ones I've considered trying to hunt down if I were to pull the trigger on one.

Working:
TEAC A-7010, 1250, A-2300SR, A-3300S-2T, A-2340SX, A-3340S, A-2000R
Otari 5050 II

need help:
TEAC A-2300, JVC 1224, Tascam MS-16

I have 5. Two Sony TC-755's, Two TEAC A3300SR's and, Otari MX-5050B-2HD.

I need to recap the5050 and one of the Sony's went down a couple of months ago. Someone told me that something is getting hot in there. Maybe a pre. It starts playing for 5 or so, seconds, and then it goes, just about quiet from then on.
Lu.
