How many watts is your Amplifier @8ohms

I love it when I turn the amps on, from cold, and the house lights go dim for a split second.

I love it when I turn on the tube preamp and the “On” indicator incandescent lamp takes a bit over one second to come to full brightness. Shows the easy wake up call the ICL I installed does to the preamp.

The old SAE amps would cause all the lights to flicker. I would yell out, "It's Alive!"

Well, my various Mc. SS & tube amplifiers, both mono block and stereo will output their rated watts when the load impedance is matched to the auto former`s, or unity coupled output transformer specific output impedance tap.

Living room/bedroom`s Mc. MC 1201 mono blocks @ 1200 watts ea.

Living room`s system`s Mc. MC 275 LE tube amps for mid/HF application in the mono configuration is claimed to deliver ~300 watts in that mode.
Sunroom`s Mc. MC 2205 @ 200 watts per channel.

This room`s separates based stereo: Crown DC-300 Series II SS @ 150 WPC. into 8 ohms.
Workshop`s Mc. MA-6100 rated at 70 WPC @ 8 ohms.

2 receivers in 2 different rooms of different manufactures are manufacture spec. rated @100 WPC into 8 ohms.

There are some other various tube amps in occasional use, both Mc. and ARC, Dynaco Mk. III

Factory rated at 250 x 2. Power charts show it actually gets close to 300 x 2 @8ohms.

In my sig it shows I am running 2 amps and 2 sets of speakers..

Right now I am running just my Vega 15s and I got another GFA-555 today, I had to..

1. I have never run bridged mono anything before
2. It has handles, now that I have it, I like the other look better.
3. I have never had 600wpc before
4. I have 2x 555s, a 535II, and an Outlaw 2200.. should make for a good HT setup later..

Also, not sure if I will stick with the bridged mono setup, A piece of me thinks it sounded better running just one.



I think the switch is upside down lol. I do like how it has a power LED that works. The original binding posts are nice, but they do not take a banana.. so I think this one is all original. Old school. I got it from a young guy who inherited it after his father in law who passed recently. I haven't cleaned it much other than wipe a pair of boxers on them to get some dust off lol..

The clean look of my new one is growing on me.. I have to get in there and flip that switch though lol..

I technically only have one if we exclude the power amp's matching preamp. It is a Sony TA-3200F with 100WPC at 8ohm.
