Round up, 8 is close to 10, pick 10 :)

Real SET owners don't round up. Actually 300B tube owners have an inferiority complex with their fellow enthusiasts, as we run so much power compared to everyone else. The real cool SET owners are Type 45 folks, with 1.5 WPC on tap. And we barely acknowledge SET people who use transmitter tubes like the 845.

Okay Mister Pig, I added another selection 0.1 watts to 10 watts - it's at the bottom of the list because it will not allow me to change order.

Sometimes I struggle with what to list. For example, I run bridged amps on a pair of subs, 2800W each running on 120V, that steps up to 3600W each if running on 240V. But, that isn't a system I use all that often, and it's just on the subs.
 
My NAD 2155 is rated at 55 watts, my Amber Series 70, at 70 watts (a real stretch thinking up those 2 names), and finally my Hafler DH-500, at 250 watts. All have as much power as I'll ever need, as I listen at low levels, rarely peaking above 85db. I guess I should join the SET crowd. :hug:

My total surround setup is about 2900 watts. The Parasounds are on the IMF RSPM Mk IV mains. I never use all that power but the headroom is awesome.
 
You're sandbagging. I know you have those TPA amps that are at least 10wpc, or more depending on supply voltage. ;)

I do have those TPA's with a bit more power but they're pretty lame compared to the wattages I'm seeing here.

Can't help but be reminded of the quote from Dick Olsher who said:

The answet to that is easy.

If you need 200, then just one won't get it done.

I have no inherent problem with low power (at least in my terms) my little EL84 amp doing something between 10-15wpc sounds great. However, it won't facilitate a ripple on the surface of your beer at 100 paces, when it comes time for something like that. :)

Bridgeable amps should only be counted if they are bridged. Having an amp that bridges to over 900 watts doesn't get me in the 500 and up club as I don't use it that way.

Rated and benched are just ways of talking about power. The ak collective wants to defund FTC power ratings in enjoyment of posting larger power numbers. This isn't right. The FTC came up with those rules for a reason, to keep the manufacturers honest in their power rating specs. We should try to maintain that integrity but when one mentions both rated and bench tested, that is probably ok as long as the descriptor of where that power number came from is mentioned.

2 Mc 207's 14 X 200= 2800 watts

1 MC 206 6 x 120= 720 watts = 3620 watts total

1 mc 2505 2 x 50= 100 watts

I use 6 channels of one 207 for the left and right speakers tri amped. So does that mean I get to put 501 watts+ in the pole? The center channel would be 400 bi- amped, the rear 400 bi amped and the sides 200 each. The 2505 is for electrostatic head phones and remote speakers. The 206 is for another system? Mac owners usually can count on 25% head room on 2 channel amps and I assume 20 % on multi channel amps before the Power Guard turns on. I know my 2505 easily reaches over 70 while meeting specs. And my former 2100's 130 watts, and 2200's about 260 watts. Friends of mine 3500's easily reached 440 watts with a clean source of AC. Our building had 125 volts on the mains and 501's could easily reach over 600 watts before the Power Guard activated. The original 275's just over 90 watts

These amplifiers are my daily drivers.
For my front speakers
2 Dynaco MKIII mono blocks, 60W@8 Ohms each
2 bridged Crown XLS-402, 900W@8 Ohms each
For my rear speakers
2 Adcom GFA-545, 100WPC@8 Ohms

The numbers I listed previously were for Crown pro amp. I do not specifically see "FTC", but there is Crown's "minimum guaranteed" type of thing.

If it's FTC you want, then FTC you shall have, 2400W bridged @ 8 ohms, FTC 20Hz-20kHz; one of my QSC amps.

There is no need for the implication of bogus power ratings. Big, "real power" amps are easily available.
