How the MC275 is made

Not sure if this is a repost... video on how the modern MC275 is made. This looks soooo modern compared to my old MC240.

Some parts are very similar to the MC240 such as output transformers and chassis. All else is new as any newly designed tube amp has to incorporate many safety features, low power stand by and anything else required for certification. These additions do not effect the sound in any way but do add many parts to monitor the amp's operation.
New MC275s use a combination of through hole and surface mounted parts. This kind of construction did not exist in 1961 when the MC240 was first built.

This just reminded me of something. The local best buy (well magnolia) has an MC275 set up at the storefront constantly playing music. It would be interesting to see how the setup would sound if they let me swap the 275 out with my 240. The setup sounds good and it would be interesting to test if its the amp that makes it, or one of the other components. Obviously they won't let me but it would be fun to try.
