what i want to hear is the same for every speaker; a clean, detailed, well balanced sound from top to bottom, with a well defined soundstage.bordeno said:They have different sound, which is "better" depends on what you want to hear. You're going to hear the bass more emphasized on the HPMs, and the Pioneers are going to be more efficient.
If you have unlimited power, the ADS's would be hard to beat. They have a beautiful clear sound with incredible highs. I had a pair for 20 years and they matched well with a Hafler DH-100.
whenever you get an open window......Charivari said:Yeah, I live about 3 hours away, but it'd be difficult to figure schedules seeing how busy I tend to be on weekends.

Charivari said:Well, I'm going to have to make it there sometime to pick up an Infinity Quantum 2 cabinet to mirror-image my pair, so I'll make it a point to get down there the same weekend.
Soon, hopefully.

Kelly, you have an open invite whenever you can make it.kfa888 said:Well yeah that and to hear Scott's mighty AR stack. Let me know when this is going down so I can invite myself.![]()
Fast_Eddie said:We ran my l810s back to back with Mike's HPM 100s at our Cheyene get together. I didn't think I would like the HPM 100s, but I was wrong. They are some really great speakers, and the two were more similar than I expected.
Having said that, I don't think it's much of a contest. I could be biased, as I own the l810s and not the HPM 100s. To my ears, the l810s went deeper, and had a more open sound than the Pioneers.
Anybody else from that get together care to comment?
