The price does seem a bit steep, but at least it is a complete bunch of documents, in great shape. It's difficult to find that kind of thing for a model that old, so I can see it. VERY nice to have, for any Eight Deluxe owner, that's for sure. Congratulations! :thbmsp:

All original docs? Very nice. I've paid more for a nice pile of original Fisher ephemera, happily.

It really does add a bit of enjoyment to owning a nice piece of gear. It's almost like...you're the original owner, and you saved all the stuff.:yes:

It's no more a waste of money than buying another receiver to sit on the shelf while you still enjoy the 8 deluxe. I think it's great...pamper the one you love, collect everything about it. You can only listen to one at a time anyway.

I do the same thing...a lot easier to buy service manuals and literature than still more gear!

I just received a message from the seller. It seems that times are tough and he had to sell his Eight Deluxe. He later found the paperwork and wanted to keep it, as he loved his receiver.
His wife made him list it, so he listed it with such a high BIN, that no one would buy it.

Then I came along.

He says he is happy that it went to someone that appreciates the Eight Deluxe.

While I feel bad that he really didn't want to sell it, I know he needed the money, so now I don't mind that I paid that much.

Are you feeling OK? You've paid less than that for whole systems. But it's nice to have the original manual for the equipment you really appreciate. And a good ending to a good story. BTW I like the Halloween avatar! :yes:

I think I'm OK.

I know, I just got a receiver, CD player, and speakers for about that much.
Oh Well, I have never seen these documents before, so I treated myself.

I picked the avatar because my wife likes Hello Kitty. About the only way I could include her in my hobby.

I just bought a Sony EL-7 Elcaset owners manual for $35. The only other won I have ever seen was with a deck that went crazy expensive. It's nice to have documents to go along with gear that you normally never see. It's just money right?

Nothing wrong with treating yourself. :thmbsp: I just bid $50 for an original Pioneer headshell for my PL-630 but fortunately I lost. My son helped pick out my Halloween avatar.

Speaking of original documentation the hang tag from the QRX 9001 is now on my 9090DB.

Think you overpaid? Try buying an original manual to a Marantz 2385 sometime on Ebay. Ouch!!
