I'll be danged, I never heard of them either. Well, back in the '20s-'30s they were around, but not lately.

The heart was there but the execution failed to deliver. If I remember right, these were somewhere around $10k new.

Never caught on as anyone who used one was plagued with mechanical and sound issues. Apparently it was a very tricky thing to get right.

Too bad the company went bankrupt. Vestax was poised to be a DJ market monster but when everything started going wrong in Japan they just couldn't keep up.

You can't imagine how many times I rewrote that last sentence to keep it from sounding like a bad tsunami joke...
