Yes a step down, - bought from 'Airlink Transformers', who are very local to me, I got the 1.5kW version. :thumbsup:

Perhaps the sound will sparkle a wee bit more when you meticulously remove the years of accumulated dust.
 
congratulations John...looking forward to your impressions once you've worked your magic on her...I'm curious what speakers you'll run with such a beast ...I bet a nice pair of British two-ways would just vanish when you tether them to the finished article.. The AU-X1 is a serious piece of Sansui engineering. Just stuffed to the gills with big transformers, caps, and heat sinks. If one ever came my way for a resonable price I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat! Congrats on the score! They are a rare beast. Cheers and happy listening! :music:
