Identify these vintage Altecs!

Trying to decide if I should drag myself out of bed tomorrow morning to try to get these from an estate sale. Can't seem to identify them though...

Cabinets are very nice, but they're not Altec.

I'd verify the contents before i drop a lot on em.

Looks like aluminum dustcaps visible thru the grills, not a great sign.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess they weren't billing those ones as Altecs, but these ones definitely appear to be? I suppose I'll take a ride since I'm awake anyway

Hi Nick. Be sure to take along a cheap multi-meter in case you need to verify that voice coils are still good, a phillips and a straight screwdriver to pull the back panels to confirm which speakers are in place, and a camera to keep a record of what you see. Please keep us informed about your findings.

Look like the University cabinets I used to have.

They could be coaxial.

First person through the door at the sale bought them immediately, and for a hefty price of $1500. Since they had already been sold (I was #37 into the house), I didn't want to start pawing this guy's purchase. Adjustment knobs came out on the left side and were labeled Altec. So I think the most definitive answer is: Electrovoice/University cabinets (seemingly the Aristocrat) with with some form of Altec going on inside.

Those aren't Aristocrats... if they contain a 12" ... then 1500 seems far fetched...

Mine baffle boards were originally "cut" for a 15", an 8", and a horn tweeter, but I had JBL 130A/LE175 in them.

Also, Mine sat up off the floor about 4" with the footers served as the port through the bottom front of the cabinet.
